Morocan Inspired Kitchen Tea!

Two weekends ago my sisters bridal party (me included!) successfully hosted her Moroccan Inspired Kitchen Tea! It was exciting to have a different theme, and everything to be a complete surprise for the bride to be! We wanted to stay true to theme, using rich colours of red, orange, pink and gold, and then also taking on the homemade antique vibe.

In the first image you can see our theme table, which just had decoration to set the mood and no main food on it. It backed on to the amazing pool and garden area, really setting a relaxed environment. Each table setting had a centre piece, just as the bottom images display. This kept the theme consistent through the entire party area. The decor was a mixture of great op shop finds! And ornaments I've been collecting over time and handmade pieces. A few little homemade art projects always give a great touch. Together I think it had an amazing feel!

It was a joy to see our visions come to life, and get busy with a few homemade art projects.

To make the day pass, we had plenty of food and desert, also played a few games; a great one for any one organising a kitchen tea, or any shower in this case is, Bingo! Traditionally presents are opened in front of all your guests, so giving everyone a bingo card to play along whilst opening presents keeps it fun for everyone. Great idea for young and old, I’ve given an example of the simple cards above!

She had an amazing time! I Hope everyone out there gets to organise a fun themed event for someone special soon!

Little pick me ups...

Just something I found inspiring, we all need these little things to keep us going. Just to stare at for a little while! Also, buying a cute Kitchen Tea gift for my amazing sister from this website where these images were found. Hope she loves it, can not wait to share all the photos.

Hope you can get as inspired as me, amazing and affordable prints!

Adorable!

My boyfriends adorable little brothers.
They are a joy to be around, and a huge inspiration to make little adorable clothes for adorable little people.
Cooper and Liam.
And my beautiful man, of course.

The meaning behind the label...

Only now I'm beginning to realise that he was trying so eagerly to get to know me so well in the short time he knew he had left.

To learn all about me: He would ask me where I want to be in life next year, why I'm going to uni, what I'll do when I finish, why I want to own my own business. And that was his favourite part, my aspiration to do something of my own one day.

He would always assure me of the competition in the fashion industry (I never let it bother me). But I know he only said to protect me from being hurt by the world. We could speak for hours, over lunch and long slow walks of business and ideas I have about markets and business cards and more!

I remember how he would just smile, he loved hearing me speak about it all. Especially being a very successful business owner himself.

He believed in me, he was interested in my journey, and excited by my ideas...
So, I wanted nothing more than for him to be a part of this...
My Dad, Mick passed away 23rd of January 2012.
The first part of my label was named after my amazing Dad. “Mickey”
The start to the creation of my label... An inspiration every day, I miss you.

*A very honest start to my blog, I know! But an important explanation!
(Meaning of "Rose" soon to come!)

Beginning

Argh! So I’m very new to the blogging world... But I will get there :)

Thanks to my fantastic friend Katie, I have been inspired to start blogging! I'm excited to document and track my life in this creative and expressive way. 'Mickey Rose', is the aspiring label name of my upcoming children’s wear fashion label. So this blog will be filled of all things, Adorable.

Or, at least that I find adorable.

So I hope many people can enjoy one girl making her way to the top. All I know for now is that, I cannot wait!

(And just secretly... let’s hope I get the hang of this soon.)
